Rosé is a fun, versatile champagne perfect for sipping on a summer afternoon to start the festivities or as a late evening sundowner. Don’t let the stigma around Rosé champagne put you off, it can be as flavourful and crisp as a regular champagne.
Roland Champion’s Rosé is made by the blending method - this is the method of making Rosé, by adding a bit of red wine to the base white champagne. Rosé is only allowed to be created this way in the Champagne region and no where else in France. So quite unique and special.
Composition
Grapes: 90% white wine - 30% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir 10% red wine - 100% Pinot Noir
Dosage: 8 g/L
Bottled: July 2015
Tasting Notes
When smelling we found lots of berry scents - strawberry, raspberry, maybe even some blueberry.
Tasting it made us immediately think of summer! Fresh and light with red fruits and the hint of some hazelnut or walnuts at the end.
Pairing Suggestion
We recommend enjoying this lovely Rosé on a warm afternoon in good company or even as an after dinner drink along with a delicious berry
