We are excited to present this delightful champagne made from 100% Meunier grapes.
We’ve mentioned before, Meunier is the least renowned of the 3 core champagne grape varieties but has just as much depth and potential as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
As its name suggests, this bottle is brought straight up to the front row for its exceptional aromatic qualities. Pole Position always comes out first and sets the bar for the rest of the range from the Lasseaux vineyard.
It doesn’t fall short when it comes to taking the podium either - in 2015 it was awarded Gold by IWSC and in 2016 it was also awarded Bronze by Decanter.
Grapes - 100% Meunier
Vintages - 50% from the harvest of 2017 and the remaining 50% a mix of harvests from 2000 onwards.
Dosage - 7g/l
Aging - 32 months maturing in the bottle before being released
Apples baked in pastry with a dollop of honey (really - try it)
There’s also some fresh citrus balanced out by that classic chalky minerality (think: licking rocks but in a socially acceptable way)
A homemade cheese and charcuterie board as recommended by the vinter.
