This champagne is the classic representation of Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot.
The grapes used for this champagne are a blend from 30 of the 43 parcels across Vrigny. The soils here are generally sandy and chalky in composition.
The grapes were harvested in 2015 and 2016, it then spends 12 months in a Foundre for the first fermentation and following that, aged for 30 months on lees in the bottle for the 2nd fermentation and finally released in July 2017.
Grapes: 55% Meunier 30% Pinot Noir 15% Chardonnay
Mix harvest 2016 and 2015 reserve wine
This champagne displays a lot of creamy and fruity smells and flavours - we found apples, apricots and some orange. There’s also a distinct minerally flavour from the Vrigny soils. See if you can find some of that.
Extra Brut champagne has less sugar and will stand up well with many dishes, so we recommend experimenting to find your favourite.
